Easy Cell Copying, Multi-Column Search, Fast Battle Setup, and Cleaner Layouts
Hey Excel Clashers! We have been busy building some of the most highly requested layout updates and feature improvements. Today, we are super excited to share a major update to your interactive spreadsheet sandbox and the multiplayer battle rooms. This release has been designed to make your overall learning flow much faster and more intuitive, while ensuring the UI elements are cleaner and perfectly responsive.
Whether you are trying to find a specific practice module or looking to challenge a friend to a quick formula duel, these new changes will make your learning journey feel fast, seamless, and identical to a native desktop spreadsheet app. Here is a breakdown of the key features included in this release:
1. Copy and Paste Like a Pro (Ctrl+C / Ctrl+V)
You no longer have to manually type identical values or duplicate formulas cell-by-cell! We built a custom copy-paste engine directly into the grid editor. Here is how it works: select any cell (or drag to select a group of cells) and hit Ctrl+C to copy. Move to your destination cell and hit Ctrl+V. The spreadsheet will instantly copy the raw values, formulas, text alignments, and background colors to the new location. This behaves exactly like Excel or Google Sheets, saving you lots of time during practice.
2. Sidebar Module Search
No more scrolling through long list guides to find your next exercise. We added a friendly search bar at the top of the left curriculum sidebars for both Challenge and Exercise pages. Just start typing, and the list will filter instantly while keeping the lesson order numbers correct. This helps you jump between exercises in seconds.
3. Perfect 50/50 Split Layout
When you hide the left sidebar curriculum to focus on your work, the main screen now divides exactly in half (50% instructions on the left, 50% sheet editor on the right). We also removed the gray background paddings, thick borders, and heavy drop shadows around the grid, allowing the spreadsheet to span full-screen and utilize every pixel of screen space.
4. No-Login Battle Rooms
We believe clashing with friends should be hassle-free. Now, guest users can immediately create custom private battle rooms, choose challenge types, and join active lobbies via code. You do not need to sign up or log in to play, though authenticated users will still have their names and avatar levels displayed when they join.
5. Clean Fixed Headers and Next Navigation
We decluttered the challenge fixed header bar by removing unnecessary category details. More importantly, we added a high-contrast Next Challenge button on the right side. Once you verify your logic on the current problem, you can click it to jump straight to the next module.
6. Application Areas Updated
If you want to know which sections of our website were upgraded in this update, here is a list of the main sections we touched:
- Interactive Spreadsheet Engine: Enabled copy-paste keyboard actions, polished button highlighting, and fixed hover dropdown clipping.
- Main Viewports: Redesigned the challenge and exercise split views to support the new balanced screen widths.
- Navigation Sidebars: Integrated the new search input boxes and matching list filter systems.
- Challenge Header Banner: Streamlined layout titles and added the fast Next Challenge navigation link on the right.
- Arena Containers: Removed gray backgrounds, margins, border padding, and floating card shadows so everything fits perfectly.
- Battle Rooms Lobby & Creation Flow: Opened access for non-logged-in guest players.
- Battle API Controllers: Implemented anonymous host sessions and guest tracking cookies.
